Strategy Director

As we continue expanding, we are looking for a Strategy Director to join our team to play a lead role in delivering projects, applying and evolving our methodology, and creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.

You are a deep thinker with strong credentials in brand strategy and market research. A confident team leader and player, you are keen to embark with us on a journey full of possibilities.

Experience and qualification

  • 10+ years of solid experience across relevant disciplines including brand strategy, market research, innovation, marketing, communication and advertising
  • A strong background in qualitative research will be considered a big plus. With a successful career in research and insights under your belt, you’re keen to take your know-how right to the heart of brand strategy and design
  • You have worked on both international and local brands across a variety of industries, and have played a key role in driving high-profile brand creation and re-positioning projects

 

Terms of engagement  

  • Attractive remuneration commensurate to candidate’s experience
  • Different forms of engagement can be considered: full-time or part-time (at least 4 days/week), permanent or fixed term

 

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Project Scoping and Delivery

  • Drive the scoping and delivery of projects’ brand strategy phases, from discovery and market research to development of strategic directions and plans, and briefs to creatives and implementation specialists
  • Take the lead in generating insights, brand propositions, brand architecture, communication plans, naming/verbal identities, and campaign ideas, assisted by specialist support as required
  • Working with other team members, the client and partners, generate a holistic view of the opportunity for future brand value growth based on a robust understanding of the client’s business, market situation, customer needs, competitive landscape and the impact of trends
  • Define the methodology for and conduct consultations and workshops with clients and their key partners
  • Define the methodology for and conduct market research with customers and consumers, assisted by specialist support as required
  • Collaborate with the client team and its comms agencies, to develop strategic recommendations on how to bring the brand to life across multiple channels

 

  • Business Development

  • Work with the firm’s partners and senior colleagues to articulate new business opportunities, write and present proposals, pitch responses, approaches and project plans
  • Represent PUSH in profile building and business development events, such as conferences, seminars and university lectures

 

  • Team management

  • Lead and manage other strategists – as part of project teams and on an ongoing basis – inspiring them to grow professionally and deliver the highest quality work in a timely and personally satisfying manner
  • Contribute to maintaining and building PUSH’s culture of collaboration and experimentation

 

Location

  • The role is based in Fitzroy, Melbourne and will require travel, most often to Sydney

Account Coordinator

6 month contract

Do you love brands? Are you interested in getting experience and learning the ins and outs of how a brand consultancy works? At PUSH we are looking for someone with strong initiative and drive to join our team, helping deliver brand strategy and design projects.

We are a team of researchers, strategists and designers who work with organisations who want to change the rules of the game, ask the difficult questions and truly think big. Our portfolio of clients is very diverse and keeps growing – it includes fashion and financial services, higher education and retail, start-ups and not-for-profits.

You need to be a confident team player and keen to roll up your sleeves. You need to be inquisitive, enterprising and business savvy with a finger on the pulse of popular culture. In your role you need to appreciate the importance of attention to detail and have strong project management skills. You will be the glue that binds the office together making sure everything is running smoothly and on track!

A background in marketing, advertising or business administration can be a great plus in your application, but they are not a requirement. What matters to us is that you have the right mindset and enthusiasm to excel in our field.

Location

The role is based in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

Terms

This is a 6-month full time contract. Applicants must have the right to work in Australia for the duration of the contract. No employer visa sponsorships are available for this position.

Remuneration

Pro rata of $42,000 per annum inclusive of superannuation at 9.5%.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Support to projects and business development

  • Coordination and daily management of projects including accurate financial and timeline management.
  • Prepare account service related documents such as agendas, meeting notes, Weekly WIP’s and other relevant client communication.
  • Assist senior Account and Strategy team members in executing tasks that are part of the Discovery, Research and Brand Strategy phases of projects, which include but are not limited to competitive reviews and brand audits.
  • Assist in the background research and preparatory tasks for pitches and new business proposals.
  • Formatting and proof reading presentations.
  1. Office Management Support

  • Welcome clients and visitors to the office, set up meeting rooms and look after refreshments.
  • Assist with general office management activities, including booking flights, ensuring key internal documents are kept up to date, office supplies are properly maintained and the fridge and cupboards are stocked appropriately with drinks and snacks.
  • Assist with and sometimes lead internal PUSH initiatives such as team building activities and events and general office upkeep.
  1. Social media and marketing support

  • Depending on your know-how in social media, you could be involved in PUSH’s ongoing social media activities. This may include finding content and coordinating postings for Twitter, LinkedIn and other channels.

Skills needed for the role: 

  • High level of organization and a great attention to detail.
  • No task is too big or too small. You approach writing meeting notes with the same focus as you do to making that perfect latte for the client!
  • The importance of office management is taken on with pride.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills – especially powerpoint and excel.
